The Dead End

Barf Carcass Not for the faint of heart but an album that deserves your patience. A relentless 2 hours, where most songs are below 60 BPM and backed by a church organ. But the bleak, bitter darkness gives way to moments of grace and redemption

Weindar Beautiful, haunting, heavy, moving. Fluid and expressive bass can be heard throughout-and is refreshingly high in the mix. When Abandon picks up the speed (rare but memorable) it seems to heighten the tension-which is a constant. The vocals (and lyrics) are sparse but some of my favorite in all of metal. The pipe organ adds a unique quality-and in my opinion-creates an epic and melodic constant backdrop to the already brilliant tracks. RIP Johan. Favorite track: It's all gone.

Doomlobbyn This bleak clasisc of swedish funeral sludge is a must have if you like your music fueled by angst, despair and spiritual torment. Favorite track: Pitch black hole.

Christian Larsson Could very well be my all-time favorite doom album. It's almost difficult to listen to the entire thing in one sitting. Very real music. Favorite track: Pitch black hole.
